David is THREE!

I can remember when Andrea turned three. She really knew a birthday was something special that year. David has been the same way. For the past week he has told everyone that asks that he is THREE!!! We have had a great month of celebrating, and last saturday it all came to a close with a fun train party. David loves trains right now, especially Percy (from Thomas the Train), because he is green. He also loves Buzz Lightyear, puppies, and balls, and has recently developed a love of cars and Lightning McQueen. I guess you could say he loves things that GO and MOVE. He really never stops! From the time he wakes up he is a ball of energy and it is hard to get him to lie down for naps and bed. He is such a busy guy!
Mostly his business involves following Andrea around and trying to keep up with her adventures, but even when she is away at school he keeps very busy by himself. He has taught himself to potty like a big boy and loves being a big boy now! He is picky about everything, food, clothes, etc... so we have a time trying to get him to do what we want.
He has come out of his terrible 2 year old tantrums and has developed into a sweet little guy most of the time. As he develops his speaking skills, his frustration with communication decreases.
He continues to be shy at first with new people, but Andrea really helps him open up more quickly. They both love to visit play grounds, ride bikes and trikes, and watch the animals at the zoo.
Andrea is 5!
My little girl, ready for actual school. I can't believe how fast 5years can fly by. It really seems like yesterday that we were welcoming her into the world. The weird thing is, I can't imagine a time when she wasn't in my life. She is a true joy to us. She loves everything life has to offer. She is always willing to try something new and aims to please everyone around her. Her heart is one of the purest I have encountered. Poor girl, she cries during almost every movie she sees the first time through. What an imagination she has! I think that is why the puppet theater party fit her so well. She loved practicing all of the stories she could tell through her puppets.

Right now Andrea is playing soccer and loving every minute! Although she is not always paying attention, and she doesn't have a lot of aggressiveness, she does enjoy running and playing with her team.
Andrea goes to Kindercottage for preschool. She loves her teacher and little friends she has met there. We have signed her up for summer camp there and she is already anticipating it. She has learned many new things, her teacher says that she doesn't have a strong desire for any particular subject, but participates happily and eagerly in every activity. I was glad to hear that since she moans and groans at me at home sometimes!
She is a WONDERFUL big sister. She loves David more than anything. She does a great job taking care of him and sharing with him. I think he feels a little too loved sometimes!

Went to the beach with Nana, DaddyBob, Debbie, Ray, GDeb and GDave

Up to Indiana for Thanksgiving week
and now you are up to date! Sorry I won't be posting pictures from all of these events... I have a few from the beach trip, our only one this year, and from Andrea, David, and cousin Eliana decorating Grandma and Grandpa's tree at Thanksgiving. I will also post one of David on his potty. I had basically decided I was going to wait to potty train David till he is 3 because of how difficult Andrea was.... however, we do talk about it some (getting him mentally ready) and right before thanksgiving he decided he wanted to go ahead with it! He is doing a great job! I am so proud that he is actually thinking about it and going deliberately! We won't celebrate too much just yet, but it seems like he may actually be easier than Andrea... we are hoping!

DAVID IS 2!!!

My baby turned two last week. My how time flies. He is such an independent, yet insecure little thing! Andrea has never shown any fear, and David is right with her- in the comfort of our home. He is so shy and never ready to jump into any situation. He is the sweetest, cuddliest child at times :) He loves his puppy stuffed animals and his bears. He loves to read books and has started to sing recently. His favorites right now are Quack Quack Cock a doodle doo (Wiggles), Twinkle Twinkle, and Jesus Loves Me. Andrea made her first Trumpets debut and they sang Jesus Loves Me, so he has heard that one a lot. The other morning I said, "I love you David" and he said "Dedus wufs Me!" Too cute.
We had a puppy party because that is David's favorite thing right now. We had the party in TN at my Mammaw's house. He loves my cousin's kids, so I thought it would be the best place. My Mother and Father-in-law brought a bounce house that they own and my Aunt Debbie helped with the decor and made David's adorable little puppy shirt! The kids made little puppies out of their thumb prints, tossed bones into the Puppy's mouth, and made Ice Cream Sundaes in dog bowls. We also had puppy chow and scooby doo graham snacks, and some pretty cool puppy cupcakes. A great time was had by all!
We love our little man Dave and have been blessed to have him in our lives for the past two years. We can't wait to watch him grow and learn this year!

Dance pictures!!!
Andrea turned four this past weekend... so crazy! She had a wonderful day on Saturday at her Royal Tea Party. Today, we had to get dressed up for our dance recital pictures. She thought she was really cool because I put a little make-up on her. Her recital is at the end of May, and I am going to have to miss it for a wedding! It is ok, though, who knows if she will actually dance, and I will be around for the dress rehearsal. Anyway, at least she will look cute! Here are some pics of her today and a couple from her birthday party...

February

February was busy for us! We had a few birthday parties, Andrea went tubing with the church, we traveled to TN for a couple of days, there was more snow, we watched the Olympics, and at the end of the month my good friend, Sabrina, took pictures of the kids for me. In March we have Andrea's birthday and princess party on the 13th and are really looking forward to it! David's birthday is the 31st and we will be having a party in TN with lots of family over the Easter weekend. Andrea is taking dance pictures, we have dentist and doctor's appointments for check-ups, and of course our weekly Chick-fil-A toddler time will keep us busy druing the week.
If you would like to see some beautiful photographs of Andrea and David, hop on over to Sabrina's Photography blog, http://www.sabrinalewis.blogspot.com/. They are growing up so fast!
The pictures of Andrea at Madison's princess Tea Party at Iced Cupcake Cafe, and David at Hanna's Pump it Up party! He thought he was so big! Hanna is the daughter of the girl who does toddler time at Chick-Fil-A, we love their family! They are so sweet!

Sorry it has been sooooo long!

So, I have decided that since it has been so long, I will just skip over the holidays and start fresh in 2010. We have had a rocky start... I can't seem to get the house back in order since we got home because David has decided to become a Tornado. Basically he just tears through the house taking things off shelves and throwing things about the house while I just try to keep things off the floor. I really don't know how this place is ever going to get clean with him around!
The sunday we got back, one of my best friends from college let us know that her daughter Adri had been having seizures. Long story short, the seizures were happening very frequently and after a major one in the middle of the night they had to call 911. They found a brain tumor and it has just been a whirlwind since then. The surgery to remove it went well, but they have a long road ahead with her recovery and follow-up visits. Andrea just loves Adri and we love having little playdates with them! We are keeping them in our prayers. I have told Andrea what is going on because she had been asking when we were going to get to see Adri again before all of this started. Well, she doesn't quite get everything, but she immediately started making her "care packages" and "talking" to her on her pretend phone. She has also initiated prayer for her several times! Kids can teach us so much about life sometimes.
Anyway, this morning Andrea and David got out all of their dress up clothes and got on their ride on toys and had a little parade around the house. They have been playing with the dress up stuff a lot lately because Andrea has decided she wants to be a nurse... she has put band-aids on everything, and let me tell you, band-aids and plastic toys don't mix! They are so diffiult to remove and she is wasting a ton of band-aids! We have had a few discussions, and I don't think we will continue this practice :). Here are some pictures of the parade, they were hilarious! They just love each other and love to play together and it does my heart good to see how well they get along sometimes! At the time of the parade, Andrea was a super hero and David was a robot...
